In the summertime when the weather hot, you can stretch right up and touch the sky…” Well those times are a few months away and at the moment it’s all crisp mornings and clear blue skies. While you’re freezing at your bus stop in the mornings the moisture is disappearing both from the air and your skin at the same time.
Add to that, skipping from heated room to heated room and you need to develop a plan of attack if you are going to remain your usual glowing self as the mercury drops.
The first thing we should be doing is overly documented wherever you turn so I’m just going to mention it once and very quickly; drink water. There, I said it. Next!
If you are able to, (and your beauty therapist recommends it for you) book yourself in for a Microdermabrasion. I recently had a Microdermabrasion done by the wonderful ladies of Beerwah Hair & Beauty. Amazing. Acting as both a vacuum and an intense exfoliation at the same time it will rid you of that leftover summer skin and leave you with fresh, clean skin ready for your winter moisture attack.
It’s time to up the ante.
Next, take yourself out of the aforementioned heated room, to your nearest department store and get some serum today.
Designed with smaller molecules to penetrate to the deeper layers of the skin, serum will give you a more intensive treatment. After cleansing, apply and let the serum soak in for a few minutes. Then follow with your moisturiser.
A general rule of thumb with your skincare products is thinnest to thickest. Water and cleanser, serum, moisturiser and eye cream.
Now ladies, there are your rules of engagement. Go forth and hydrate.
